Re: Double White Line Meaning?

Well, I think it should be obvious by now that the correct answer is "No Parking". I am very happy that more got it right than wrong. When I posed this question on PH a few years ago, the responses were over 90% wrong. A double white line system does NOT mean "No Overtaking". Tha...

Re: Double White Line Meaning?

OK, I'll grant that if the correct answer was what they intended then they would have used different paint. The incorrect answer is incorrect regardless of what they intended - there are more than just cars on the road. If they intended for the incorrect answer to be the effect then there is a sign ...

Re: Double White Line Meaning?

Oh, there's no "technically" about it. The correct answer is stated quite clearly, and the incorrect answer is specifically contradicted. If that makes sense... without openly giving the answer away.

Double White Line Meaning?

Sounds simple enough... Of the three answers, only one is correct. Since this question has appeared before on other forums, I am expecting more correct answers than the last time I posted it. :| Mods: Posted in this forum because it covers all of Learner, AD, Cars and Bikes etc. Feel free to move it...

Re: So do you know the Highway Code?

10/10 - Looks like you've cracked the code.

Only one question that I had to stop and think about for a minute - No 4, the seatbelt - then I realised it was actually quite obvious.

Re: Pedestrians - victim or cause?

Yes, right. So let's get some clear legislation that cyclists will be held responsible for accidents that they cause and the same for pedestrians. If everyone has an equal right to use the road then everyone has an equal responsibility to use it safely and not just rely on others to compensate for t...

Re: Pedestrians - victim or cause?

Yes, I agree. Drivers should be up to date, but at least they probably know a reasonable amount of it. I also agree that them and us is a problem. I tend to raise the ire of many fellow road users when I slow to the same speed as a cyclist until such times as oncoming traffic allows me to pass it wi...
