Re: Mobile phones

- phones are legislated against and targetted because they are easy to target - that isn't to say we shouldn't target them, it is to say that it explains whey they are selected and controlling fractious children in the back seat is not prohibited :swords: Alasdair Do you believe groups and individu...

Re: Mobile phones

I think that we have a case here of this being a simple target (similar to speed which is easy to measure) so rather than looking at dangerous driving which is hard to judge or prosecute, simple targets are pursued... it is easy to video someone on a phone, so it is easy to prosecute... Don't agree...

He also raised concerns that as systems like this become more popular, insurance could become prohibitively expensive for drivers who did not want to opt in. "Your ability to say no is going to be significantly limited because of the economic consequences of saying no. And this is why I've bee...

Re: Driving with DSG

This idea of matching a driver's style is stupid IMO (and why on earth it could be expected to lead to a smoother drive ...) I want my gearbox to behave in a predictable way so I know what to do with the throttle to get the gearbox to do what I want. My 'style' changes in a moment when I get out of...

Re: Driving with DSG

There's a lot of confusion out there about these transmissions "learning". As far as I can establish they do learn, but not about the driver's style. What they do learn are the bite points and slip levels of the two clutches and make minute changes to the timing of the activation and rele...
