Re: Look what I had to play with.

I think the bloke that designed them and gave them his name just died in prison after a civil service career ended badly.

Re: Headlights too bright

Does anyone remember the Citroen DS with its steerable main beams? IIRC the left hand lamp swung to the same angle as the right wheel and vice versa which made them look a bit odd if parked with the front wheels turned away from the straight ahead.

Re: Satnav and driving test

There’s nothing wrong with my hearing but I never use the voice prompts on my satnav. I have other things I would rather listen to and I found the constant interruptions irritating. I just glance at it whenever I want an update on where the next turn is.

One could argue that the pavements could be made narrower but paint is chea...

The original link shows the plane if you zoom out a bit: it appears in the upper right side of the view.

Re: Learners on motorways

There used to be multiple images of a plane taking off from Heathrow showing the way the image we see is made up of images tiled together. The plane could be seen leaving the runway, heading west, then turning south.

Re: Learners on motorways

Not the first time they have shown up on the satellite view. It used to be possible to spot the Battle of Britain Lancaster near Grantham before the images were updated.
