Re: Being overtaken while turning.

I've found that leaving braking very late does help, as the person behind ends up far too close to be able to move out to overtake, but the trouble is, if I'm about to turn into the junction, and a car appears coming the other way, the only realistic choice is to stop and let them exit the junction...

Re: Being overtaken while turning.

What's already been said three or four times, But... Be Very Aware of two-wheelers, particularly mopeds and untrained cyclists as they now see a gap up the nearside they could use. You are taking responsibility for the whole road, you have an unusual (unexpected) turning position and need to be very...

Re: What would you do?

It's an unsighted right-hand bend: Despite being able to see what is on the rising hill, what I don't know is that a car was parked just around that bend (for the driver to answer a call of nature - or of mobile). Having finished, the driver is just starting to accelerate back to NSL as I have nearl...

Re: Learners - motorways, night, bad weather

If the pass rate is so low the reasons should be explored and solutions found; even if this means further investment, more than just financial investment, by the pupil and instructor.! Why? Why put more drivers on the road ? Surely we have enough congestion. Yes I know this assumes they won't drive...

Re: Where's Panda

Rather than looking for a panda, maybe its a case of good observation to rather look for a lack of carrot? :D I like to think I am fairly good with observing. I seem to have a knack for seeing impending doom. I was following a car on a fairly big main road 30 limit the other day, and he started to ...

Beware! Pop-up bollards (presumably)

After all, why else would they NFA it? http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/people-walked-away-flipped-car-10578102 "On pulling out to pass a cyclist the vehicle was in collision with a central island and turned over. There were no injuries caused to anyone apart from minor ones to the ...
