Re: Issues with our car...
A car without a clutch is hardly under full control, is it? If you need to stop in an emergency, you are going to have the engine fighting the brakes unless you have a hand spare and the presence of mind to knock it into neutral. In stop start traffic, it's likely to be at best a nuisance to other ...

Re: Issues with our car...
Worked at a Fiat dealer for 24 years 1971 onwards they were all cable operated clutches and the cables snapped on a regular basis. I honestly forget how many miles I have driven without a functioning clutch pedal during recover of these cars don't see what is dangerous in doing this, it's just a ski...

I'm using a Prestone screenwash fluid which has the repellent built into it. It also has the advantage that using the wipers builds it up and doesn't wear away. Good enough for no wiper use at speeds over 55mph on suitable roads. Didn't work on the rear of the Skoda because the airflow is a reverse...

Re: Confessional
Despite the fact I've only been driving for 8 months or whatever, I've already racked up a fair list of near-misses and stupid moments, but each and every single one of them, I've learnt from. For instance, there was one such near miss which happened during my Pass Plus, and basically, I was turnin...

Re: Something happened on my way home...
The tales I could tell... Honestly, until motorists take on board the fact that the cyclist has exactly the same rights to be on the road as any other user this sort of thing will happen time and again. The "they don't pay road tax" argument has been thrown at me many times but it should b...

Re: New to this
Bear in mind that North Yorkshire extends to within 10 miles of the coast at Morecambe Bay, but that's a very long way from Hexham where Keith's group are based :) (and it's even further to Slaidburn). I am watching this thread with interest a day out would be great but as I work shifts it would ha...
