Re: A few more videos
Hi Mike, the main reasons you give for trail braking are the ones most often quoted and emphasising to corner at a higher speed. It may be different for bikes but from the perspective of cars I would say the main reason for public road driving is to add an extra layer of safety rather than speed. Fo...

Re: Older cars become more attractive by the day
I drove my first DSG auto some years ago and since then driven a number of cars with it. Very impressed and now own a car with this box. My love of this system grows. The only thing I miss is heel n toe. However left foot braking is replacing this skill. I would always look for DSG in any car I purc...

Re: M23 NOT so smart!
Do you avoid dual carriageways, without technology and refuge areas? Very good point, not sure how to answer that. :? Don't know why but drivers seem a bit more attentive on non motorways. Maybe because motorways have fewer hazards it instills a sense of safety so concentration drops. The expectati...

Re: Highway Code Review for cyclists, pedestrians and horse riders
Some of this has already been in the HC but rarely followed by motorists. On a cycle I've been regularly cut up by cars turning, vehicles not observing ASL, cars passing much too close (on a number of occasions I've had an elbow clipped). Trouble is will people read the HC and follow the rules/guide...

Re: Any opticians here?
A firm called Optilabs (https://www.optilabs.com) make up a variety of glasses for sports from a prescription. I used to get cycle glasses from them as I need varifocal as well. They are made up to your requirements so can be plain or tinted.I used to have a pair of each. The cycle glasses were curv...

Very true. One wonders how they could have slipped up so badly.

Re: DVSA Tests and Lessons to Resume
What the IAM appear to have said is “ The return to on-road coaching will start with a two-week period of peer observed sessions and assessments for our observers from Monday. This will be followed by the restart of Associate in-car coaching from Monday 20 July. Tests will restart two weeks later M...
