Re: Masters assessment

The 'depth' is irrelevant, perhaps the link I posted to an x-ray might have done a bit more than hint at that! :) My point isn't depth, more that depth with movement makes a constantly changing scene with more evaluating possibilities. Addressing the link, it was talking about looking for things as...

Re: Please Explain

It's a forum, rather than a chat-room. No vetting, as far as I know, posts appear as soon as they are submitted. What can be confusing to a newcomer is the sheer number of separate discussion threads all running in parallel.

Re: Masters assessment

My point was that the 'gorilla' video is a two-dimensional representation of a three-dimensional scene and, lik...

Related, I suspect some instructors get their pupils to change to second gear too early because they have trouble w...

Re: Masters assessment

I, also, think that a look to the distance is hardly more than a glance. After that you already know how much acceleration you're going to be using, modified on an on-going basis by assessment of closer hazards. That looking as far as you can see is just setting the scene, defining the outside envel...

Re: Book Promotion

As people probably know already, AbeBooks was taken over by Amazon some time ago. I didn't know that. That's a great shame - a typical example of pike swallowing minnow, to all our disadvantages. It happened ages ago, so either the bad things have been with us without anyone noticing, or it wasn't ...

Blue was a good edition of Roadcraft but as to what else was available, "High-Performance Driving for You", "Prevent or Punish" and "Putting My Foot Down" ;-)
