What I'm against - and the need for IAM or RoSPA to actually publish any guidance on offsiding supports that view - is that uninformed, unthinking, unnecessary, implementation of offsiding is a high risk activity. The reason that I offside as per Roadcraft is to maintain view not maintain speed it’s the view that allows you to maintain speed or progress so you yourself drive on what you see is the information that allows this . ..... Which bit of Roadcraft is it in? In the '97 version, page 121 has a section...

I've uploaded the full version, warts and all, so any of my future IAM Associates can watch it. A real IAM test would include some dual carriageway as well...

Recently, I read the ex-Stig's 'How to Drive' book. One of the things he suggests is to pivot your left foot on the heel when changing gear. I can't do this, I have to lift my foot off the floor if it releasing the clutch is to be anywhere near smooth. Any thoughts? Was this road or track related? ...

Back to the missing Traffic Sign Recognition system, the more I learn of what is actually fitted to the vehicle the more I believe that Land Rover's stance that it can't be retro fitted is perhaps the standard response rather than what actually could be done if the issue crossed the desk of someone...
