Re: 'Filtering' Accident

Horse Price list not available. Open to negotiation. ;) The 'price' (figure of speech) in this case was a painful foot and scratched bike, which could have been avoided. As we've said earlier, hindsight is a wonderful thing and can help us learn. I'm sure we've all learnt things from these dissectio...

Re: 'Filtering' Accident

I chose to go over the handle bars rather than rear end her 4x4 because the last time I did that (purely my fault that one) cost a lot of pain and money. You'll accuse me of 'victim blaming' again, but in your mitigation explanation you admit to history of running into the back of a vehicle. The po...

I just managed to apply enough steering input to go behind it and my right shoulder passed a few inches behind its hind quarters. This was no mun...

Re: 'Filtering' Accident

Despite the stereotype, you'd be surprised just how slow/ponderous many riders are. They also regularly underestimate 'mundane' hatchbacks and estates. One of the reasons filtering to a position of a drag race is often not a good idea.

Re: 'Filtering' Accident

If you watch the video for a bit longer after the collision, once she gets up and returns to her journey, you'll see why she didn't employ any of the get away quicker tactics.

She was going left!

So a complete mess of a filter move.

Re: 'Filtering' Accident

Some interesting thoughts guys. Here's what I commented when this was shared elsewhere. I don't think it was deliberate. Hmm, filtering is allowed, however you still have to look after yourself. Why would you position yourself so close that if the car creeps forward (and a lot do) that it runs over ...

Re: 'Filtering' Accident

You can't move to the front of the queue as it's a lights controlled pedestrian crossing ;)

'Filtering' Accident

This video seems to be doing the rounds on social media.

What are your thoughts? I feel out on a limb at the moment by what I posted elsewhere.

Re: Nearly a very nasty moment.

Crikey, I was expecting the StreetView to be of a suicide lane that had been converted to cross hatching.

That's way too narrow for an overtake unless serious congestion has taken both sides to a crawl ... and then it may be too dirty to ride on.
