Re: Use of Indicator for Overtaking
It reads to me that if a signal is necessary, the indicator should flash for a minimum of four seconds and cancelled prior to moving to the offside. In what circumstances do you think a signal is necessary? If you think it is necessary, how long does it take another road user to see it, understand ...

Re: These shoes are made for walking
She doesn't understand how I can feel the pedals through the rugged soles. Maybe point out that the police seem to manage, given they must wear chunky shoes and still be able to drive to a high standard. FWIW sometimes I used to drive in walking boots, didn't seem unreasonable as they were securely...

Perhaps you might check the rest of Oxfordshire ... it seems to be across the whole county.

Re: I was just following the satnav...
Google Streetview of March '21 shows it clearly being a road, with the footpath stopping either side. On the face of it, the council extended the footpath and added one or more steps, possibly to protect people walking 'across' the lane from vehicles coming up the hill.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cmmgvnnjgq9o How is that an acceptable response? If it told you to drive over a cliff, would you? I wondered how easy it would be to see there's a step so I looked at Google Streetview - in early June of last year, the step was probably being installed - see http...

Re: Tree accident
I was curious because I've twice been along that road, both times heading east, once driving, the other time navigating. NSL, after sunset, seemingly reasonable road, quite likely raining. Sometimes difficult to spot what you're not expecting.

Re: Lighting...
Thought perhaps I should say when I turn rear fogs on or off ... if visibility is enough reduced, based on how well I can see the one ahead, and I can see nothing behind, I'll turn them on. If something catches up then, unless it's really bad, I'll turn them off, again based on how well I can see th...

Re: Lighting...
I've often wondered why rear fogs aren't tied into the speedo. Either have a 40mph limiter when they're on (...), or turn them off above that speed. If it's foggy enough to need them, you probably shouldn't be doing more than 40 anyway. In a motorway context I would expect to do it the other away a...
