There is no ongoing cost associated with the Amazon Fire tv. All you need is broadband for it to work of a min of 2mb.

I pay £20 a month for broadband and phone.

Nick, Fire TV stick gives you all the catchup stuff such as iplayer, itvplayer etc. Then adding Kodi gives you catchup on any TVs series ever and movies.
