Why continue braking when you could be accelerating because the limit point is extending? Have a look at the one (Bret Tkacs) that I linked. I don't understand the first question. For me in the situation you describe I'd cover the brakes (even in my car), but not have them on. It's easier on the bike as all the controls are readily to hand/feet all the time. Maybe a light touch on the brake rather than merely covering the brake would ma...

Has anyone else noticed a sharp decline in the standard of driving/riding over the last few months? If so has anyone any idea why?
Almost on every trip now I witness dangerous driving. Amongst the most common are overtaking cyclists (particularly on blind bends) and pulling out from side turnings.
