Re: All Quiet on the Western Front

Well I'm close to Inverness...doing the North Coast 500! Fuel is no problem up 'ere. Some stunning roads and scenery even in October and the places we've been staying at (B&B's, an self-catering apartment and hotels) have all been fab. The people have been friendly and the 'other' drivers seem p...

https://gov.wales/proposal-reduce-speed-limit-20mph-residential-streets

I've responded as best I can...not that it's likely to make a difference.

Re: Proposed changes to the Highway Code?

...If you were turning left today and saw a cyclist on your left, not obviously stopping behind you, what would you do? Any normal person would wait for the cyclist to clear, so not much changes there. But how many 'normal' drivers actually check their left mirror and shoulder check, before turning...

Proposed changes to the Highway Code?

So what do people here think about the proposals which include: ⋅ Pedestrians waiting to cross the road having priority over vehicles (rather than just those already crossing)? ⋅ Cyclists having priority when undertaking vehicles turning left? ⋅ Cyclists having priority...

IAM RoadSmart - oh dear

Saw this press release recently... https://www.intelligentinstructor.co.uk/20mph-limits-gain-popularity/ Why are the IAM promoting lower speed limits across the board - as in reducing the 30 to 20 nationally? I'd much prefer they promote 'Advanced Driving' and gaining the skills necessary...regardle...

Re: Groups

Jim If you live near Didcot or thereabouts then the Oxford group is your closest group and cover your area. If you fancy looking at Thames Valley Advanced Motorists they are the adjacent group....take a look at https://tvgam.org.uk/ for more details. You could speak to the IAM Roadsmart HQ and discu...
