Re: Driving in Barbados.
Well, the journey from the airport to the house was... interesting. I wasnt driving which was a shame as the chap that was was very reactive and not at all subtle about it. The locals don't indicate much but you can make a strong assumption about their intent from the body language. Buses apear to j...

Re: Driving in Barbados.
I walk as I drive. Looking ahead, planning my lines and overtaking dawdlers. Works in the supermarket too.

Driving in Barbados.
Worst 'I'm going to Barbados thread ever. I'm going to Barbados in March with a lot of family. My MIL has just sent me confirmation of the hire car (van) we'll have. All up, we're looking at 1,800kg+ and 91bhp at the fly. It's a Suzuki APV van and it's going to be brilliant....I hope. I'd like to th...

Re: I passed my advanced test today.
You can. I was travelling at the nsl several hundred yards before I passed the nsl sign, which wasnt even visable at the point at which I started accelerating. I figured I was illegal for such a distance, despite it being perfectly safe (which was my argument during the debrief) that there was no wa...

Re: I passed my advanced test today.
I'm late to the party, but congratulations. I can't say I was happy that I passed because initially I thought I had failed. A few days later, they told me I had in fact passed and I felt like I cheated, so it was a hollow feeling. As some other people have said, it's a base from which to improve. I'...

I think you misunderstood my point. Or im so bad at writing, i miscommunicated it. Ive tried again but failed so have deleted what i was going to write. In short, i dont think its worth worrying about. Perhaps its something you develop as you get older, but the sooner you realise that you dont actua...

Re: Old ADUK...oh dear
My Grandfather is 95 and refers to both my wife, who is black and my best friend, who is asian, in somewhat unsavory language. He means no ill by it. I can find jokes about black people and asian people quite amusing. He is not racist. I am not racist, but people will be offended both by what Granda...

Re: New ST drifts itself.
RS it is. What I didn't mention, which is the sad part, is that the manufacturers are yet again putting technology in that will diminish driver skill. Id love to learn to drift. Pressing the 'go' pedal to the floor and arbitrarily doing some steering while the car balances itself is not what I'd cal...
