Re: Clothoid?

But even the simplest of bends catches people unaware. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.635536,-1.3689212,3a,75y,87.41h,90.28t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sSCUQMSU0A7tPS3XK-yhUXw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656?hl=en See that nice little fence on the left hand side? This is a most unusual picture as about once a month s...

Speed

I'm not sure that this is a subjective observation, but there does seem to be a lot of egregious speeding going on at the moment. Many times over the last month I've been pootling along at my usual indicated 75 on a motorway and somebody comes blasting past at what I deduce must be speeds in excess ...

Re: Tyres fitted to front or rear

A curious thing about Saab 9-5 estates is that no matter how much one tweaks camber etc, the rear tyres always wear on the inside. I reckon I get through twice as many rear tyres as fronts. This has happened with all four 9-5's I've had.

Thanks Martin,

After a couple of worrying months I'm back in working order and have the letter from DVLA to prove it. Phew!

Re: Phone use (again )

And so many people are now using their phones as satnavs. The inbuilt car satnav (and the ridiculous costs of updates) has become a dead-end of technology. I had the ultimate in DWDCA a couple of years ago while being driven by a colleague who was fiddling with both car satnav and mobile phone satna...

Re: Phone use (again )

I think the law of unintended consequences kicks in. Thus new pena...

Re: Terminally Embarrased

Well, to add to the woes, I've been diagnosed with sleep apnoea and advised to stop driving pro tem. I'm handing in my AD card for the moment until I'm sorted. I hope to surface eventually after lots of CPAP and weight loss. Shit happens. :hit:

Re: Been a naughty boy?

It has almost got to the point (certainly in Occupied North Berkshire) the only way to effect an overtake is to take the overtakee by surprise ....
