Re: Motorcycle airbag jackets
These are available for horse riders too, especially eventers who are even more at risk of falling off and of the horse falling on them. In addition to bracing the neck and back, there's a degree of padding. The early ones had to be worn with a body protector as they inflated with enough force to cr...

Re: 80mph on the motorway as bad as drink driving
Other organisations are available. If the IAM has "lost its way" - which it certainly appears to have done - try an alternative. It wasn't so long ago that similar complaints were being made about RoSPA's press releases... But RoSPA is a [health and] safety organisation first and a drivin...

Question for people who have run flat tyres: Do you find you get more punctures than you did before run flats or other cars in the family with normal tyres? SWMBO has had her Mini for about 3 years and seems to get a puncture every 4-6 months. I can't remember the last time I got a puncture although...

Re: Good afternoon :)
Long ago, after I'd met the standard for IAM membership and then helped others to do the same I just wished that the IAM standard would become the base standard for driving in the UK. Fool was I. It wouldn't be too bad if all drivers maintained the DoT test standard. I've had associates who wouldn'...

Re: Hazard warning sign on Dual Carriageway
Basically, it means the new road crosses a public footpath and they didn't have the sense/money to install an underpass or footbridge

Re: The Crash Detectives
One of the cases from this series where a nurse on painkillers blacked out and killed a driver on the opposite carriageway got a mention in the RoADAR newsletter - she was sentenced to 5 years & 4 months
