One thing that has been pointed out to me. If you pull over to a safe place to use the phone legally the engine has to be OFF. Suppose it makes it easier to enforce that way but.......

The issue of giving way to pedestrians at junctions, maybe just maybe. With more and more electric vehicles on the road pedestrians are unaware of their presence, therefore it is down to the driver/operator to give way to them. Same for 50 limits on rural roads, can't have EV's running out of power ...

Croydon has had a blanket 20 limit on all non-main roads( introduced overnight with little/no consultation) for over a year now. The majority of the roads were not capable of sustaining 30 for more that a few hundred yards in anycase (if you are looking of course). The bit about not being too worrie...
