Re: RoSPA launches website to keep older drivers safe on the roads
I currently have a young pupil who's powers of concentration absolutely appaling due to having no interest whatsoever in any activity that involves a practical skill. My understanding is that the family think that he should drive before going on to university. If he passes his test, only if I think ...

Re: Left foot braking with automatics
Just wish I could find a reliable way of ensuring that, when I drive an automatic, I won't at some point stand the thing on its nose by by going for a non-existent clutch pedal and finding the brake instead. Could always tie me left shoelace to the seat-frame, I suppose. +1 I just don't like automa...

Re: Removal of white lines
Edmund King of the AA - who often says sensible things - was commenting on TV tonight. Re: Removal of white lines
White lines are being removed from busy roads across the country in an attempt to slow motorists down. am pretty sure that there have been schemes where they have tested removing road signs as well... Alasdair Brake have suggested also removing cars from the road as a jolly good safety measure to r...

 They've tried adding paint. That didn't work, so now they're taking it away. Can't win really, can you. About fifteen years ago my wife and I took our daughter to Hartpury College on the Gloucestershire- Worcestershire borders. It was one of those filthy December days where it more or less dr...

Re: Bad expert analysis
The side road would have give way lines, and that is exactly what they mean, give way to traffic on the main (priority road) irrespective of whether you are a motorist, horse rider, or cyclist etc. This was on the face of it, purely a tragic misjudgement by the driver emerging from the side road, bu...

 Here's a more difficult one - though I'm not sure that it should be: In the 1953 film "The Dam Busters", Wing Commander Guy Gibson had a black dog which he called Nigger. That is a fact, but am I now in trouble for simply reporting that fact, including mentioning the dog's name? Do ...
