Re: Is AD 'better driving'?
(and Jon, I am not sure that general 'baddrivericide' is acceptable :)) Start with people using hand held mobiles. Particularly when they have a passenger sat next to them. Why are we trying to build our way out of road congestion rather than get people off the roads who don't want to be there anyw...

This one, especially if she doesn't ...

Re: IAM RoADAR is a punishment
Safer and more enjoyable driving - but difficult going on impossible to prove, and not a perceived need by most. Yet needed by most, frustrates me, for just proper observation and that 2 second rule (for pedants, to be extended in poor conditions) obeyed by all, would lead to fewer collisions. And ...

Re: IAM RoADAR is a punishment
Doesn't surprise me. If you start with the premise that most drivers think they are competent and have nothing to learn, any training would be seen as "re"training which would usually be for some sort of infraction. And arguably, they have been ineffective at promoting advanced driving - c...

Re: Black Boxes
Only anecdotal experience (people talking about them on another forum where boxes were imposed on company vehicles) - both firm acceleration and braking are judged. Cornering speed indirectly (ie g-force). I'd be surprised if lines can be followed. Obviously speed too (though I suspect they'll ignor...

Re: Blue lights overkill
...others may also have noticed about the sheer number of lights fitted to emergency vehicles and frerquestnly used all at once - one can hardly help getting the impression that there is a certain pleasure being taken in simply using all the kit. The use of co-ordinated flashing headlamps is anothe...
