Re: Life sentences

You are just chipping away at the tip of the iceberg with a tea spoon, the problem is one of deteriorating attitudes in society, the notion that "I am untouchable, I can do exactly what I want", why? Parenting - the parents are just as bad in most cases, it's been going on too long and a g...

Re: Explaining and developing gear selection with a 'student'.

Re: What was your first car?

It was back in 1963, my parents couldn't drive and I had a 175cc BSA Bantam ostensibly to get me to night school in the next town. My parents were fearful that I would end up as as a statistic so the deal was, you pass the driving test and we buy the car but you are our driver for shopping trips and...

You may be aware that the IAM Roadsmart are in the process of updating their Skills for Life course material, one of their objectives is to bring the training up to date, acll it "real world". The IAM's advice on steering is now:- • Hold the steering wheel in a way that allows for a full a...

Re: Tailgaiters (aggressive drivers behind) - any advise please

I will drive up to the prevailing speed limit, road and traffic conditions permitting and I will use acceleration sense to achieve a lower speed approaching a lower restriction. If the guy behind chooses to overtake, so long as it does not impinge upon my safety, I will modify my driving position to...
