Regards: straight-gears; interesting comment in one of Chris Gilbert's DVDs, where he says "Changing gear with the steering set" ie not changing the steering at the same time as changing gear.

And, to use the term, be wary of 'lane shear', where one lane is moving substantially faster than another - circumstances where drivers are likely to try to change lane to go with the [faster] flow.

Just be aware of where you place your car ie don't sit in blind spots etc. watch for 'hints' that the driver might be about to change lane etc.
