Re: Live Fast, Drive Hard - My RoSPA Diary

I stopped posting on the forum, but just an update and some closure for those who cared and followed the start of my journey. I had my first test today finally (more kidney surgery and the birth of daughter number 2 intervened in the last few months). I'm pleased to say the result was a Gold. I shan...

Re: What Happened?

The footage doesn't quite show enough to know for sure (at least on my laptop screen?), but that's a nasty crash by anyone's standards. Bloody lucky the baby got out of that in one piece. Volvo safety strikes again... probably.

Re: Live Fast, Drive Hard - My RoSPA Diary

As I mentioned in the latest entry, I'm looking to be paired with their ex-police fleet trainer next time around, so it's something I'll definitely ask to explore with him. :)

Re: Live Fast, Drive Hard - My RoSPA Diary

Agree that it is well written and enjoyable to read - but not at all typical of someone starting the process, I would suggest, since the OP had a considerable amount of advanced driver training prior to starting with Rospa. Thanks again, and that is true. I was hoping my mate would write a correspo...

Re: Live Fast, Drive Hard - My RoSPA Diary

Thanks again, everyone. I'm glad it was worthwhile typing up and sharing. I'm really looking forward to the next one already, it's a shame they're only fortnightly! Plenty of opportunities to 'practice' in the meantime mind you. :)

Re: Live Fast, Drive Hard - My RoSPA Diary

I AM SAFE the Roadcraft version (p 254): Illness Attitude Medication Sleep Alcohol Food Emotion And congratulations. Our children bring us great delight. Your Roadcraft knowledge comfortably exceeds my late night Google-fu. :) Thanks for pointing that out (genuinely), I've added it to the list of t...

Re: Avoiding BGOL around town

I've got a strong dislike of it now due to dieselgate, so I've suddenly lost the respect I had for it. I would like to hear more about why you are affected by dieselgate, but perhaps that would be for a different thread. BTW Well done Skoda for providing access to oil temperature, I bet not many ow...

Re: Live Fast, Drive Hard - My RoSPA Diary

Sunday 31st January 2016 I'm aching, exhausted and well overdue some sleep. Please, pretty little baby girl, sleep tonight! Don't know how you managed a good drive on 2 hours sleep. What does the 'fit to drive' mnemonic I AM SAFE stand for (actually, I have forgotten, but I remember that the S is f...

Re: Live Fast, Drive Hard - My RoSPA Diary

Sunday 31st January 2016 I arrived in a more timely manner this week, i.e. not half an hour early. I'd drawn the same observer again, Jim, which suited me as he's a nice down to earth sort in his 70s and we get along nicely. No messing about this week, which was a nice change of pace after all the ...
