Re: Limited Slip Diffs?
I have a limited slip diff (Peloquin) in my road car - Fabia diesel.... :D Whilst I appreciate I did it for trackdays there's definitely a benefit on the road, primarily the pull out of corners. However, under most advanced driving situations I can't see it being hugely useful. Perhaps it aids tract...

Re: Speed limit?
Well I'd say its 70mph whilst there is a barrier in the road, making it a dual carriageway - End of barrier - single carriageway 60mph.
Actually I've just looked closer and there is a very much "token" carriageway separation.... I'd treat as 60 but bet that's up for debate

Roadcraft Online
Anyone used it for either their own personal development, or know someone who is using it / has used it?
Just curious on feedback as thinking in order to refresh for my RoSPA test in about 9 months time, I'll have a crack at that, rather than going through the book.

Re: Run flats to 'normal tyres'
Type of tyre won't affect the pressure monitoring That's usually based on measuring wheel speeds.
Normal tyres are definitely more comfortable than run-flats. My mate had a Cooper S and first job he did was fit Cooper 16s and normal tyres. Became a much more comfy beast.

Re: Questioning the way I use roundabouts.
That looks like one roundabout where having a mix of 2 lanes on and 1 lane off, would benefit from some directional arrows on the ground to give some clarity. Personally from A I would like to see the left lane being left only, with arrow to suit. And the right lane being a "straight on" (...

Re: Which side of the road to walk on
I always thought safest to face oncoming traffic, but I would also make a call based on the corners / visibility. It's not very black and white.
Personally though, with Dartmoor on my doorstep, that's where I'd be walking.

Re: Overtaking at pedestrian crossings
I think I would only attempt similar if the car had already began moving over / was already over the crossing and my overtake was maintaining my brisker progress whilst the other car was still getting up to speed. If it was stopped, I might pull alongside and slow right down to check (drag race pote...

Re: Uh-Oh . . . Trouble in the stable :)
Can someone please explain this concept as I'm not sure I fully comprehend the use of the word "taper" here. There was talk at our last group meeting about "trail braking" which sounds a little extreme for road use, until someone else described it as more like feathering the brak...

Re: Dodgy precedent?
... I would hope if the law came around to me after someone moaned about an overtake, I would at least have my dash footage to prove it was safe. :) Where can I find a camera that can produce that? I was thinking more about my own forward facing camera which also has speed displayed on it. Just to ...

Re: Dodgy precedent?
I don't think the blue focus in that link did a perfectly OK overtake though? :D I don't mind when its for clearly genuine dangerous stuff. But I do share concerns about its use in perfectly safe scenarios. I would hope if the law came around to me after someone moaned about an overtake, I would at ...
