... however I don't think that anyone is arguing to allow mobile phones other than hands-free and (without knowing the stats) presumably there are not overwhelming stats to show that hands-free use is causing accidents / killing people - even if it is not optimal... Delving into the 2015 Government...

There you go Mike, you've bought the wrong car!
Just swap yours out for a Ferrari.
Although the Yaris CVT with "7" speed flappy paddle is quite easy to drive if you want to go that way!

One pet gripe of mine is the use of body-worn radios by police officers when they're in a car. Apparently there is a way to pair the personal handset with the car, but it appears rarely done.
