Anyone here owned all the cars referenced?
Or any and which?
I owned a Spitfire and Cooper but a classic not the one shown here.

Re: Philosophy of programming a driverless car. Kill or be killed.
I'm surprised any car manufacturers want to get involved with this. Think about it, driverless cars will have to obey speed limits. They won't "think", "Oh lovely series of bends on this well sighted rural B road, let's have some fun". A driverless Ferrari, Aston, Caterham, McLar...

Re: Braking
I think it is more: - the amount of tarmac to stop on where you know it is safe to drive - i.e. you have clear visibility v. limit point - the amount of tarmac you think you have to stop on - but some of which is hidden and fooling you :) and agree, that you need to then build in contingency... 1. I can't tell you as many years ago I signed the Official Secrets Act, twice... This bits true... (I guess others here have also) 2. I can't tell you because I don't know.... Or am I lying because of answer 1? Not something you should declare publically on 'net. That aside your username, which I ...

Re: Issues with our car...
Loads that should be looked at, engine mounts, as said above and gearbox mount(s). Then there's driveshafts, also mentioned above, suspension components, bushes, balljoints, suspension strut top mounts and obscure stuff like buckled wheels or out of round tyres. Time for the vibration plate and/or l...

Re: Confessional
It's great having a good hoon along windy country roads in the sunshine. But we all have off days. I had one today, and I was total shite. I needed to go and collect Mrs T from Didcot Station, a mere 4 miles this evening. A bit of rain and the sort of darkness that sucks the light up, and heavy tra...
