Re: Overtaking at pedestrian crossings

[Derail warning - don't read if offended] "Don't you know what 'STOP' means?" [pointing at the rear of his bike] "How many other vehicles do you know of with 'STOP' signs on the back?" "Local buses" replied matey. A copper in court was asked by the defendant's solicito...

Re: Cutting Corners - Major to Minor

My favourite for having to take into account others cutting the corner is here - https://goo.gl/a3PzZq, with the view from the opposite direction here - https://goo.gl/mPxwW9 which is only slightly worse view because the camera car is on the "wrong" side of the road.

Re: Notice of intended prosecution.

But rather than trying to avoid a penalty on a technicality... If drivers are expected to follow the rules 100% of the time and not get caught speeding, surely also it's a valid expectation for the authorities issuing tickets to get it right 100% of the time. And when they don't, they get sanctioned?

Re: 2017 Changes

My technique (instilled in me from Pass Plus), is at the top of the slip road, floor it up to 60/65odd, while taking the furthest right position possible, with my right indicator going Physiologically speaking, it seems to make easier for someone already on the main carriage to notice you if you st...

Dangerous or just careless?

From BBC News: An aristocrat who caused a three-car crash on a busy road has been cleared of dangerous driving. Lady Susan Zetland, 77, of Aske Hall, near Richmond, North Yorkshire, tried to cross the A66 at the Hargill junction on 4 July. Although if you look at the dashcam video at http://www.bbc....

Re: Driving in the middle of London

I found that driving a 26' American camper van through London whilst navigating using the A-Z on my knee was a little challenging. Although if you position early and positively people do tend to give way... Although that was less challenging than taking a (smaller) camper van east to west through Pa...
