Re: Mobile phones

It's a simple matter of what is or is not policeable. Neither are "safe" to use on the move. Hand-held use is obvious. Hands-free use is not. I believe it is that simple.

Re: Routes into Advanced Driving?

My experience is that anyone taking training for any reason other than "because they really want the benefit" will always revert to type afterwards. I am sure that there are exceptions, but I hold that they are few and, for some, there may be some small thing that sticks, but most of the l...

Re: Mobile phones

Sounds like he is saying exactly that. surely that is saying as it is safe it is legal not as...

Additionally, can we have a ban on satnavs attached to the windscreen too? Since most people don't seem to be capable of placing them in a sensible location out of their direct line of sight the only option must be to ban them altogether.

Re: Mobile phones

You're not comparing like with like. Whether the phone is hand-held or hands-free is irrelevant; it is the conversation that is the problem. If the driver is capable of deciding that it is safe to answer a hands-free call if conditions permit then why is he not free to decide the same for a hand-he...

Re: Mobile phones

you're creating a strawman by comparing research into texting while driving with research into using a mobile phone hands-free. I am not comparing anything at all. I am asking you a very simple question. You claim that the research is biased and paid for by those with a pre-determined outcome in mi...
