Re: ADAS testing

And customers obviously won't want to be told they're not driving well I’m not sure I agree, when the customer is an average modern driver. Many, maybe most, of the people I know socially, or as relatives, seem to have no interest whatsoever in whether they are “driving well”. Particularly among ne...

Re: ADAS testing

I'm still curious about driver monitoring as it rolls out. Based on observance of the average driver, it's going to be nagging /a lot/. And customers obviously won't want to be told they're not driving well, so there's a massive tension between what should be done for road safety, and the minimum ma...

Re: Lighting...

I wonder if that might be an upside of automatic lights, assuming that it never, ever turns on the fogs. Which in my estimation, is about the optimum frequency of use. I've often wondered why rear fogs aren't tied into the speedo. Either have a 40mph limiter when they're on (which would amuse me fo...

Re: Lighting...

And digressing slightly, can anyone explain to me what a reeducation course is please? I've seen reference to this in the last couple of days for some DCA and similar incidents. Presumably similar to a speed awareness course but with different (exactly what?) emphasis? I guess I see speed awareness...

Re: Lighting...

I know that even at the front DRLs are not same as headlights and hence do **not meet legal requirements in bad weather. But the reality is that’s what people will use and they’re a lot better than nothing, if only the other end lit up too. While better than nothing, I still don't understand why we...

So can anyone explain why if doing 80mph on a clear dry sunny road is so dangerous that it's worthy of enforcement/reeducation, there's absolutely no effort to prosecute all the morons driving around in fog with no lights or just DRLs on? Tell me that's not more dangerous   :soap: :soap:...

Re: The Silence

I was thinking of something in parallel rather than a replacement. Maybe Facebook could act as a conduit to find us more members. You can link a website from the description of a group, or the Intro section of a page. Parallel discussion seems a very good way of reducing critical mass even further....

https://www.topgear.com/car-reviews/hyundai/ioniq-5-n-electric-hatchback-2023/478kw-84-kwh-5dr-auto/first-drive What makes it unique, then? Hyundai has thrown the kitchen sink at the electronics to make it not just rapid, but engaging to drive in new and interesting ways we hadn’t previously though...
