Re: Cycling two abreast
Highway Code rule 66 says you should never ride more than two abreast, and ride in single file on narrow or busy roads and when riding round bends. So there you have it. When a car comes up behind two cyclists riding abreast the driver immediately decides that the road is narrow and busy (because he...

If the cat had been going in the opposite direction Percy Shaw may well have invented the rotary pencil sharpener.

Re: Flat bottomed steering wheels - why??
Given that most vehicles have about three turns from lock to lock, ie 1.5turns each way there are two points at about two thirds lock on each side where the flat portion of the wheel is at the bottom. Handy if you wish to park with some lock on when parking on a slope for example and still slide you...

Re: Reg Local at Bristol IAM, 30 September 2017

Re: Reg Local at Bristol IAM, 30 September 2017
Reg had to cancel his appearance at Thames Valley this evening for personal reasons. I don’t know if this will have any effect on Saturday’s planned event.

Re: Cockpit Drill
It was either 1999 or 2000. Apparently the guy was temporarily deafened and looked like a ghost due to the cornstarch used to stop the folded airbags sticking to themselves.

Re: Cockpit Drill
I did hear of a mechanic accidentally triggering all the airbags in a Volvo while working on the car. It happened in Keswick; I was delivering a new van to a BT workshop. The BT guy was talking to a parts delivery driver who had just witnessed this happen at another garage in the town while he was d...

Re: Cockpit Drill
As I understand it airbags don't deploy unless the vehicle has reached a minimum speed threshold, 18mph sticks in my mind but could be incorrect.

Re: Rule of Thirds - Overtaking
I wonder if that is due to the deficiencies in the camera used, compared to the mk1 eyeball that he was using to inform his commentary?
