Re: Braking
Linky? Otherwise, searching for a video posted by "Someone renamed" could be hard work . . . I have found it...top of the search list for reg local  Here you go! http://youtu.be/PkE0q1s-lng I'm also of the opinion that braking is more complex than just three phases, but the three...

Reg's Youtube Channel
I've been busy with work and a holiday over the last few weeks, but I've bought some new video equipment with a view to starting a new Youtube channel. The weather was nice last weekend so I went out for a drive and filmed some footage. I spent today climbing the very steep learning curve of video e...

Not at all - there's always more to learn.
I am aware of Keith Code though - I've read some of his stuff about improving peripheral vision. Very interesting.

Re: The most difficult aspect of Advanced Driving
Thanks for the advice chaps, but I know what the problem is. I know where to look, how to assess the bend and where to position. I know where to turn in, apply the throttle and how to stay on the correct line. It's a concentration issue more than anything. If I give it my full attention my line will...

Re: The most difficult aspect of Advanced Driving
Staying nearside long enough on right handers.
I can do it perfectly if I concentrate 100%, but the second I think of something else I drift towards the centre line too early.
I'll master it one day!

Re: Best driving roads - Based on experience.
England - the A686 between Penrith and Alston. Wales - the A4212 between Bala and Trawsfynydd. Scotland - the B863 from Glencoe, right round Loch Leven to Kinlochleven and back to Ballachulish. Of the three, the Kinlochleven road is my favourite. If you're ever in the Highlands, it's well worth the ...

Re: Brake vs. Advanced Driving
I've just posted on this subject over on Pistonheads, so I'll share my thoughts here: I've got mixed feelings about BRAKE, but just to enliven the debate a bit, I'll take a contrary position and give a couple of examples of good work that they do. Firstly, support for bereaved families and people se...

Re: Speed differentials
"Avoiding three abreast" was becoming a bit of an old fashioned aim as far back as 1999 when I first qualified as an instructor. The ever increasing volume of traffic on motorways was making it more and more difficult and advanced students were using up too much of their "spare" ...
