Re: All change

ps I've just read a test on the 991 models (I can't be the only person who gets confused by Porsche model numbering) and take what you wrote to be over competence on the part of the car. I think they have to these day otherwise they'd spend half their time in various courts defending themselves... ...

Re: All change

I'm guessing that probably had just as much of an influence over how well it has sold that the fact it got good reviews because of its handling. I agree with you that the motoring public have absolutely no interest in handling and feedback, but a lot of sales were generated from the fact that it 'f...

Re: All change

Where you get the idea of tracksuit and trainers eludes me. It's just another case of you going from one extreme to another. There are many mainstream cars that look more interesting than a Skoda Octavia. Skoda and VW designers seem to have the most boring and Sombre ideas in the car industry. I do...

Re: One of the dozen

The wall is covered in ivy. There is a small patch of white painted brick on the left running parelell to the road(Church Street). just after this the wall bends left at 90 degrees where a triangular area of grass separates Church Street from Back Lane which comes in from the left at an acute angle...

Re: One of the dozen

I think, Mr Sensible, you need to re-quote Dave's post, which I have just re-read, and highlight exactly which parts of it you find to be disturbing, for whatever reasons you are harbouring. I can't find anything that isn't factual. Yes, I know Dave as well. I know how seriously he takes driving-ac...

Re: All change

There's a lot to be said for using 80% of a low power engine as opposed to 20% of a high power one. High performance cars are great, but you rarely get to use anything like their full potential, which can be frustrating. Of course, eventually most people want more performance than they have, thinki...

Now that is an insult.

Oh, you'll get used to it. After all, it's not a new experience for you. ;)

Re: Some news for you!

For the sake of being argumentative. If you're only using 50% of the car's cornering potential, you're not using it to *it's* maximum potential. And if you used 100% braking and acceleration on the road often, the BiB might notice. Even if you're in a Skoda Octopus ;) Surely only road designers/bui...

Re: All change

Heh, that Porsche is a nice cheerful colour. Was it cheap? :D

Best wishes all,

Re: Leaving your car in gear when parked

LFB also uses simultaneous brake and throttle, otherwise there'd be no point in it. However cars can detect it by working out which sequence the pedals are used in, so some will allow HnT without allowing LFB. Ah, so the plot thickens. Oh dear, this driving lark still presents surprises to the unit...
