Other organisations are available. If the IAM has "lost its way" - which it certainly appears to have done - try an alternative. It wasn't so long ago that similar complaints were being made about RoSPA's press releases... But RoSPA is a [health and] safety organisation first and a drivin...

Question for people who have run flat tyres: Do you find you get more punctures than you did before run flats or other cars in the family with normal tyres? SWMBO has had her Mini for about 3 years and seems to get a puncture every 4-6 months. I can't remember the last time I got a puncture although...

Alternatively, just carry a bulb kit anyway. Doubt they'll check they're the right bulbs for your car.

You don't need the breath test kits either - there's no penalty for not having them.

Basically, it means the new road crosses a public footpath and they didn't have the sense/money to install an underpass or footbridge

One of the cases from this series where a nurse on painkillers blacked out and killed a driver on the opposite carriageway got a mention in the RoADAR newsletter - she was sentenced to 5 years & 4 months
