Never mind the discussion - Great title on the 39th anniversary of the first broadcast of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

There are "motorists" who treat the "give way" marking at the end of a slip road as gospel

Re: 'Proportionate' costs for replacement of faulty item
On the subject of B&Q kitchens, and past experience, ONLY buy them if you have a trade account (it reduces prices by about 40%) and a tame independent fitter. On that basis B&Q aren't bad value I was surprised to find that a good independent kitchen supplier will usually be cheaper and more ...

Re: Mobile phones

Doesn't it depend on who's giving it? In my experience, most associates, when they start giving commentaries drive slower, but I've found I can generally make better progress on an unfamiliar road if I give a commentary

It will be like if you've had a drink driving conviction - only some insurers will cover you at inflated premiums. Or people will drive without insurance

Re: Driving with DSG
Sometimes these gearboxes have a mind of their own (or "have adapted to the driver's style") Experience with a Golf VR6 and a Jaguar XE (not a DSG but the same applied) showed there was no obvious link between overriding the gearbox and it switching back to full auto. (unless in sport mode...
