Re: Hello from central Scotland
The IAM is good for getting the basics together, I passed their test April this year with a F1RST. If I can help you with anything regarding the observed runs I will try, I only had a few spread over 6 months or so. The real fun is when you explore other advanced driving options after the IAM. Re: How does weather change your driving?
An overreaction from what I read, surely moving over slightly maybe straddling the centre line markings would of be fine. If it was safe for the driver to do that of course.

Re: Tailgaiters (aggressive drivers behind) - any advise please
Increase the following distance from the vehicle in front. Tailgaters seem to get the message with this technique, don't let them bully you into speeding up.
Option b) buy an Audi tailgaters don't like the rear bumper of Audi's.

I think the auto box (dsg) would want to be selecting gears for economy etc. My point was I personally would take the manual over the dsg in a 1.2 tsi.
Nothing wrong with buying a dsg if that's what floats someone's fancy.

Re: BBC Panorama
I would say a dsg version of the engine would be a push. I think it would be a bit gutless but I may be wrong.

Some lovely bikes, always fancied a bike. But I would probably be useless, I was riding a quad.

Re: BBC Panorama
That's spectacularly irritating when I'm aware of the fact a petrol engine probably could handle being in 4th at 30 anyway. You'd need to compare like for like to see if it's true - that is, a Yeti with the nearest equivalent petrol engine - but you'd probably find fuel consumption is worse, and yo...
