Re: First accident...

I'll be fitting a dash cam to my car as soon as it's back from Essex. My sister has the car at the moment. I have a dash cam, ready to be fitted. The video evidence will certainly have proved that I was at fault, but it'd also prove the accident was nowhere near as major as the passenger and taxi co...

Re: First accident...

Could it be the passenger and driver are in it together...you know...split the compensation? As has been said, stick to your story...it would have been helpful to take photos of the scene and also get any witnesses...always a high priority when you are involved in any sort of RTC these days. Keep u...

Re: First accident...

I'm under the impression that it's not only the injury claim my insurance company think is fraudulent. They think I've caused the damage to the rear bumper of the taxi, but the taxi company are now trying to claim for damage to the front of the taxi too, so my insurance company are doing their best ...

Re: First accident...

Well it sort of will. I did some test quotes using some false details, and the value of the claim definitely made a difference. If it was a reasonably low value claim, say <£1k, then it didn't boost my premiums as much as a claim which was up in the £5k region. And anyhow, if the vehicle inspector i...

Re: First accident...

The other thing I find amusing about the claim for whiplash is, the claimant is saying he has whiplash and lower back injuries as a result of the accident. However, the form sent to me also says that he has not seeked medical attention, or seeked medical advice, or has any proof that he actually is ...

Re: What headlight bulbs?

It's under warranty and the service is part of their service plan which meant I got the first two services as part of their finance offer, hence why I want to offload it to my sister before it's 3 years old because then I'll have to pay for the third service and all that :P Plus I'm getting the itch...

Re: First accident...

Sigh... So of course I go into the back of someone who can't just be honest and straightfoward. Just had a letter put through the door of my term time address from some solictors saying the passenger in the taxi is now claiming he has whiplash and back injuries, and so the solictors are going to cha...

Re: What headlight bulbs?

I'll also be splashing out on some new tyres in April or May, as I think the grip level on my tyres are... susuiciously low, but then they have done 16k miles and are almost 2 years old. Still plenty of tread on them though. Maybe they're designed for a (relatively) long life and aren't at their be...

4-5 years, maybe. Not 18 months.

Oh... Maybe the grip was just shit lately because it's cold... :help:

Re: What headlight bulbs?

Is it possible for H4 bulbs to dim, just on the filament you use more than the other? Of course. As I explained earlier, the filament gradually oxidises and burns off. In an H4, the two filaments are mounted differently. The dipped beam is mounted sideways, with a little mini-reflector to direct th...
