Re: Website not secure ?

We still have to log in on here, which means a password is going unencrypted. I'm sure everyone has good hygiene and uses a different and secure password for each site ( ), but it's still a good idea to make people think more about online security.

Re: Let's Talk More

Eye contact can be very helpful. I think the best advice is when in doubt revert to the Highway Code. That way every one should understand. I say should but I do wonder sometimes if some drivers can remember anything in the HC. It's pretty obvious a very large number of drivers can't. TBH, with the...

Re: Roads they been a changin'

We have stop/start on our van and at first I didn't like it; however now I enjoy the moments of peace it brings and it rarely causes any sort of problem. It seems intelligent and can judge when to stop/start and when not to (if the vehicle has been left unused a while?) very well. I do not find it ...

Re: Intelligent Speed Assistance - coming soon?

So we can 'look forward' car drivers now driving on the limiter everywhere, the same as lorries, in the mis-guided belief they are safe. :headbang: If its using GPS for the cars speed, at least it should stop the lorry racing scenario since all cars should have a more consistent view of GPS ...

Re: Pedestrian killed by self driving car.

"The vehicle operator is relied on to intervene and take action. The system is not designed to alert the operator." It's totally pointless then. Nigel. Possibly the opposite! The system learns from those occasions where the safety driver intervenes. Don't Tesla have autopilot perma...

Re: On Potholes and Positioning

And despite the appalling state of our roads, Cambs council can still find money for pointless speed limit reductions :bash: :bash: :bash:
For instance changing this short link section to a 40. How much money have they pissed away on that? :soap:

Re: Pedestrian killed by self driving car.

Initial NTSB report out: https://www.ntsb.gov/news/press-releases/Pages/NR20180524.aspx I find this section particularly worrying "According to Uber emergency braking maneuvers are not enabled while the vehicle is under computer control to reduce the potential for erratic vehicle behavior. The ...
