Re: The joys of driving in Sussex!! Webcam footage

Personally I think all dashcam users/owners should be required to provide all footage for anyone who wants to go through and find fault with their driving. I've noticed a distint uptick in correlation between cars with dashcams fitted and substandard driving by the same car. IIRC the police force t...

Re: A few more videos

This is one of the occasions when a headlamp on/off switch is a benefit, so you can switch it off. My understanding is they don't like flashing/glaring lights - just what you might get from a bike bouncy on its suspension under braking. If they're that likely to get spooked, perhaps they shouldn't ...

When I enquired of the reason, I was told that the amount I was told on Monday was only if I took up another policy with them. I did not do this a...

Re: Bought a new Range Rover Sport HSE Dynamic

Many times. Out of interest, does the kit recognise anything except speed limits? And if so, what does it do with the information? [I also leave calls unanswered if I am not comfortable with the driving situation I am in. Other than that, I make a conscious decision to increase following distance etc. Whilst talking. Yes, I often witness this when someone swerves left and slows down on the motorway, then you notice they're on ...

Re: Highway Code stopping distances ‘woefully short’ as drivers’ thinking time underestimated

I think stressed Dave previously said that in his experience of accident investigation 1.5s was doing fairly well (allowing for the fact it's the dozy drivers who will be the ones needing that sort of service), but it was somewhat compensated for by brakes being better than h.c. says.

Re: M1 Minibus "Accident"

Rightly or wrongly , the test that is used in law is whether or not the engine is running ; it is also used by most police forces . At the end of the day , though , it isn't what the police 'consider' but what is determined in a court of law that counts . Knowing someone on another forum who has ta...

Re: Bought a new Range Rover Sport HSE Dynamic

And, to bring us back to where we started, which is about car salesmen being trained to sell cars and finance and not understanding most of the details, we can now understand that a salesman's job is to sell us the bundle of extras, half of which we don't want or need, and then persuade us to buy i...
