Re: Website not secure ?

This site doesn't use HTTPS so the message is correct but poorly worded. What it means is anything sent is not encrypted and could be sniffed by malware on your device or unsecure public wifi. A lot of small forums like this are the same. I've been looking for an inexpensive solution for one I run s...

I never need an excuse for that ;)

Re: On Potholes and Positioning

White line / middle ... you need a motorbike. :)

The potholes make life 'interesting' on a motorcycle! A bump/jolt in the car can be so much worse on a bike. Observation of the road surface is a major priority.

Re: Lane Conflict

For the avoidance of doubt, the nearside lane road markings were obscured by queuing vehicles and my main question is whether after leaving that lane they are today allowed to overtake on the left. Can I throw it back to you and ask what you expect the cars in lane 1 to do? Do you expect the cars i...

Re: Lane Conflict

Here's the StreetView version so people can 'drive' it. This is one of those frequent situations where the lack of signs to reinforce paint (which is often erroded or has vehicles covering it) would make the situation so much better for a non-local. There's not a lot you can do once you find yoursel...

Re: Lane Conflict

I'm still a little confused. In your reply to Martine you say two entry lanes and two exit lanes both right turning. Can you give us a link to an example on Google Maps. If you are in lane 2 and vehicles are legally allowed to turn right from lane 1, how are they able to go faster than you? Should y...

Re: Jet powered stability control...

There were occasions when leaving the bike to it's own devices (sliding from under) was the best outcome. Deliberately dropping it and let it slide into the problem on it's own could be a lifesaver. As one can see well out of touch with current techniques/machinery, leathers a bit scuffed but still...

The idea seems to be a low down opposite pressure, to counteract the slide. © Mr Newton.
