Re: Roundabout 450?

I have no issues with the scenario described by the OP. It's an intelligent use of a junction to make some progress and it's a technique I occasionally use myself on a couple of roundabouts on my commute. It most certainly would not constitute a section 3 offence by any stretch of the imagination an...

Re: Reg's Youtube Channel

When watching the System video, at the first r/b, I was a bit nervous as you went round next to the white van. You obviously assumed that he was going to take the same exit as you, but knowing White Van Man, it's possible that he was going to continue round. One of stressed dave's mantras is, as I ...

Re: Reg's Youtube Channel

I haven't run you video with sound yet, they don't like it in the office, ;) however I would offer this observation on the change in picture quality. After reaching the A65 your direction of travel changes such that you are driving into a bright sky which in turn throws the roadway into dark(er) co...

Re: Reg's Youtube Channel

The latest video is now uploaded to Youtube - an introduction to the system of car control:

The picture quality seems to have taken a bit of a dip with this one - not sure why.

Re: Reg's Youtube Channel

To get back on topic, hopefully one of Reg's future offerings will give a more expert view on the matter than I can! Hopefully! Although I'm conscious that my current offerings aren't quite at the level yet to answer some of the detailed questions asked on this site. I'm pitching the early videos a...

Re: Reg's Youtube Channel

The next video is now online - changing gear in a car with a manual gearbox: https://youtu.be/A4rs09AKBc8 As always, constructive criticism is more than welcome. Do you plan to add a demonstration on changing gears whilst going uphill or downhill? In fact, I am thinking specifically about downshift...

Re: Reg's Youtube Channel

Thanks - Another good video! The new mount is great, don't think you need to worry about it anymore! I think the intro music could be quieter - On both videos I've turned the volume down quickly when it starts but then had to turn it back up again once you've started talking. Thanks for the feedbac...

Re: Reg's Youtube Channel

The next video is now online - changing gear in a car with a manual gearbox: https://youtu.be/A4rs09AKBc8 I'm still learning and these first few attempts are very much "test pieces" as I work towards some more comprehensive videos, but they'll also serve as reference points when I'm coveri...

Whilst taking part in negotiations with an unnamed trade body this week, I was told by a particularly militant representative that the issue we were trying to settle "is not rocking horse science".

I agreed.

Re: Braking

OK, can we get back on topic now, please! Reg, can you sort of describe in a word or two, your phases, pretty please? Ok, let's break the action of braking to a stop down into it's constituant parts and see what the subsequent pile of bits and bobs looks like. The initial phase disassembles like th...
