Re: These shoes are made for walking

I prefer a thinner soled shoe for driving, and my casual (not trainers) and formal footwear is generally fine for me. The only exception to this is a pair of Puma driving shoes which are necessary for the Caterham due to the restricted size of the pedal box, making most shoes too wide!

Re: Lighting...

And digressing slightly, can anyone explain to me what a reeducation course is please? I've seen reference to this in the last couple of days for some DCA and similar incidents. Presumably similar to a speed awareness course but with different (exactly what?) emphasis?

Re: Driving with DSG

Ditto what Jon said. My only other comment would be that the throttle response in my German manufactured auto is quite muted in Drive whereas in Sport it sharpens up dramatically - the difference in mapping is more than noticeable. I tend to use Drive in towns and villages (which also closes the exh...

and you're surprised?

Regardless of ones views on the current standard of driving, I think the lack of promotion around the recent changes has been lamentable given the fairly fundamental shift in thinking.

Re: It’s chilling that people drive at 81 mph on the motorway – says IAM Roadsmart

Someone is interviewing them and choosing those up 'higher'. If it's been consistent results and views for some time, is that your disconnect? As someone alluded to earlier, if eg the CEO and Director positions are appointments of the Trustees, then the disconnect is between the Trustees and the me...

Re: It’s chilling that people drive at 81 mph on the motorway – says IAM Roadsmart

Yes I have to agree with the last two posts, particularly waremark's last post. If they are not told, then they won't know. That said, I also find the previous comment Most of the IAM Roadsmart personnel we come into contact with share our views on matters like these. equally correct based on person...

Re: It’s chilling that people drive at 81 mph on the motorway – says IAM Roadsmart

Just as an aside, and I'm sorry to interrupt the flow of the thread and it's particular direction at this point, but just to return briefly to the original point in pages 1 & 2... I wrote to IAM HQ yesterday morning to express my dismay at the general direction the Publicity/Marketing/Comms team...

Re: Banning the wrong things again?

Similar to Mark above, I prefer the Infotainment system provided by the manufacturer - in my case Audi, to the Android Auto offering. It may be that the Audi Virtual Cockpit doesn't suit it particularly well, but then I found it also not to my liking when running it in OH's Golf. It may simply be a ...
