This is totally unreasonable. I don't think you should be required to move out of the area where you've done all your training and the attitude of the proposed new examiner (if accurate) is outrageous. Ex-police personnel must form a very low proportion of those taking the test, but the proportion o...

Re: U.S. road deaths up 7%

Aside from that I find/found the general attitude to pedestrians to be exemplary and light years ahead of the UK. I'm reminded of the time, years ago in San Francisco, there's a junction where Columbus Ave. Stockton St. and Green St. meet. There are traffic lights, but no pedestrian lights. I asked...

Kept it a year then, when we moved from London to Shr...

Re: Let the games begin ....

4 way stops are rather inefficient for traffic flow when there is a significant amount of traffic. Personally, when driving in places where they have them, I have been confused about what order we arrived in (the system is that each vehicle enters the junction in the order in which they arrived at ...

Re: Let the games begin ....

Here's an absolute cracker near me. https://goo.gl/maps/7wZ8DXRssvo The traffic approaching us has a virtually straight line but coming from the viewing position, the diversion to go round the paint is enormous. Many drivers totally ignore it and in fact leave the paint on their left. The joining ro...

He's not a scientist, he's a very naughty boy; apart from anything else, he's an underage drinker. :nono:

Re: The EU - Leave or Remain?

Thanks for that link Alasdair: now those are what I class as marginal, certainly not the 4% in the referendum.
