Re: Lane Conflict

And, to use the term, be wary of 'lane shear', where one lane is moving substantially faster than another - circumstances where drivers are likely to try to change lane to go with the [faster] flow.

Re: Lane Conflict

Just be aware of where you place your car ie don't sit in blind spots etc. watch for 'hints' that the driver might be about to change lane etc.

Re: Lane Conflict

Yes, you may overtake if the vehicle in front has signalled right and, indeed, if traffic is in queues travelling slowly. Subtle wording in thecurrent HC: Rule 268. Do not overtake on the left or move to a lane on your left to overtake. In congested conditions, where adjacent lanes of traffic are m...

Re: Lane Conflict

Oh - the motorcycle-specific version of the Highway Code permits this sort of action in any lane under any circumstances.

Re: Jet powered stability control...

I'd seen this mentioned elsewhere, but not seen the video. What surprised me was that it appears to be pushing the bike down - I'd assumed it would a VTOL type effect supporting the bike. The idea seems to be a low down opposite pressure, to counteract the slide. © Mr Newton. Did Mr N explain what ...

Re: Jet powered stability control...

There were occasions when leaving the bike to it's own devices (sliding from under) was the best outcome. Deliberately dropping it and let it slide into the problem on it's own could be a lifesaver. As one can see well out of touch with current techniques/machinery, leathers a bit scuffed but still...

Re: Jet powered stability control...

I'd seen this mentioned elsewhere, but not seen the video. What surprised me was that it appears to be pushing the bike down - I'd assumed it would a VTOL type effect supporting the bike. But with a small patch of gravel as shown, the bikes momentum would carry the bike across. As long as the rider ...
