They are mandatory now.

Not if you have low volume. For instance Caterhams still don't have any driver aids, even the new ones :gear:

Why bother with a manual at all if it takes the skill away from using one. Might as well just have flappy paddles

I have the caterham one, but I'm not very impressed with it. Too much shiny, not enough engineering :(

Go see Andy Walsh at car limits and see whether your two handed steering is better than his one finger at the high speed bend

Re: Associate cannot keep to the speed limit

it seems as though she wants to be within the speed limit just so that she is not done for speeding - but doesn't want to actually change / take responsibility for it... I think that's the vast majority of drivers in a nutshell. A bit like all the locals who only want everyone /else/ do be done for...

Re: ROSPA now have a public forum

Do you think that they simply added all their members into the forum, or have they really had nearly 4,000 members sign up?! I think that AD Hub is probably the most active AD forum around and we have c. 260 members! We have 66x as many posts from c. 1/15th of the members - which means that our mem...

People staring at the speedometers is likely to increase the incidence of rear end shunts. Perhaps an alternative would be the use of Intelligent Speed Limiters? If your vehicle is incapable of exceeding the speed limit unless you specically take steps to override the ISL, you can significantly red...

Re: Tyres - available grip during cornering?

Would *any* group of drivers/riders regularly provoke abs/esp/etc during *normal* driving/riding, not emergency situations. ie Taking a cornering line to reduce stress on the tyres. If they did, would they admit to it on a public forum? Maybe it overlaps with the group of people who turn of the ele...

Re: Time lapse of highwat crash in Iowa

Keeping a two -second gap to he vehicle in front is quite a challenge with others dropping in to such a large space. Fixed that for you.. Anyone got a car with a adaptive cruise control? I've never driven one. Do you find yourself continually being pushed back in the flow of traffic as vehicles pin...
