"Postby Triquet » Sun Dec 03, 2017 6:20 pm Hello Geoff, I'm just up the road in Steventon. JIm" Hi Jim, I did reply to you, but it doesn't seem to have appeared (I must have done something wrong). When I was working (at RAL) I used to visit Steventon for lunch (a pleasant change from the c...

Re: BRAKE - good news and bad news?

Huh? There are reduced limits? As you come out of Newbury, the B4494 is 40mph until you reach the bridge over the A34 - quite reasonably, since there are a lot of side entries on this section. It is then 60mph all the way to the Oxfordshire Border, with the exception of a very short section through ...

Re: BRAKE - good news and bad news?

They have done that on a road I often drive along, the B4494 between Newbury and Wantage. It is 60mph along much of its length from Newbury (though there are many bends, and even worse, narrow bits, where you have to slow down. Then you come to the Oxfordshire boundary, and the limit changes to 50. ...

"It's a De Havilland (aaaah) Dragon Rapide, for info."
Yes, that's the one. Glad to see its still going strong. Great flight.
I have a slide of it myself, somewhere (yes, it was that long ago!)

Re: Armistice Day at Duxford

Hi Mike,
I visited Duxworth some years ago. Interested in aviation - a great place. Was that biplane on the first line giving flights? It looks like one in which I had a short flight. - Geoff.

Re: Please Explain

Alasdair, I'm seeing that on the top line of my home page. On the right hand side there is a bell shape (which opens 'Notifications'), and a number, presently reading 0, then an envelope shape (which opens 'Private Messages'), and a number, presently reading -1! And I can't have sent an unread messa...

Re: Limited Slip Diffs?

I lived for 11 years in Geneva/neighbouring France (while working at CERN), and in the winter one had to expect snow and ice at any time. In addition I used to drive into the mountains for skiing at the weekend. At the beginning of winter we used to change to studed tyres, and it was compulsary to c...
