It could be the road that the sign is on is closed further ahead, (but you can pass the sign for access or to turn off before the closure).

I remember that a draft of an earlier H.C. sent for public consultation had a "rule" recommending zip merging.
I responded that it as a good idea - but that the few people (such as me) who had read the new recommendation would annoy all those who hadn't.

Birmingham has several 20 zones, and consulted about introducing many more. There are some "A" roads I use locally that have recently introduced 20 sections. I am not used to doing 20 on these roads so have difficulty keeping to it (my new car has cruise and speed control: which helps). Wh...

I don't think so.
Impact force at 11 mph must be more than twice that at 1 mph
I doubt that at 70 is twice that at 60.

Being monitored by a black box for harsh braking will put people off braking hard to avoid going over traffic lights just changed to red. The box will see the braking but not going through the red light.
