Re: Phone use (again )

Phone conversations, hands free or not, pale in to insignificance compared to the numbers texting and interacting via onscreen keyboards (phone, tablet, manufacturer built in) with social media. Ride a motorcycle and you can see just how widespread this is. Hiding it in their lap does little to hide...

Re: Tyres fitted to front or rear

I was always a best on the front man until a long discussion on the old IAM Forum and some online reading. Now I get the newest put on the rear ... even if I have to argue the case with a dealer. Have had similar 'discussions' with my dealer when they rotated and muddled the tyres up despite advice ...

I've uploaded the 3rd and final video to my series on roundabouts. There's a playlist on my channel that will play all three of them in order.

Re: Block Changes - How Many Do You Miss?

So take an early, nicely rev matched, gear change as you join the slip. How is this not systematic? It's a change of circumstances/traffic levels/flowing speed and is often going to be down hill. Re: Block Changes - How Many Do You Miss?

Only just seen this topic. When its title appeared I thought it was going to be about missed opportunities. ;) Anyway, the coming off a dual c/w or motorway onto a long slip road often comes up. Yes, even on motorbikes. Drivers and riders often want to stay systematic but complain their vehicle won'...

Re: Been a naughty boy?

Yes, the queue of sheep behind the target. On a motorbike dealt with one at a time (mainly) but I'll admit the gaps are not great and I will brake while entering.

Once behind the lorry I then make a gap to it so I am not right up its backside and I can see.

Re: Been a naughty boy?

Ah, the "You will not pass" driver. There are lots about. Yesterday I overtook an Audi stuck behind a caravan. It was a country road so could only pass the Audi. Dropped into the space and after the next right hand bend took the caravan. My two colleagues behind me also went to do the same...
