I read an article some time back which largely related to speed limit signs; how they cannot be understood by these systems was I believe something to do with the coating or dressing on them. That would be enormously stupid in this day and age. I'm no fan of conspiracy theories but it may also be down to the actual camera in use too.

Either way someone died and I'm sure Uber will catch flack for this.

The thing that is most obvious to me is the appalling use of the headlights I wouldn't have had full beam on because of the vehicles in front. And I only have visible light-capable vision systems, so LIDAR / radar / sonar wouldn't have been much use to me either. And she really does just pop out in...
