Re: Masters - Safety Vs Progress

Very simply, it was poor selection of image. .......... Now that is something we can all agree on! Although even his choice of words seemed to provoke a strong reaction in some of the bikers on the LinkedIn conversation. I'm glad that it wasn't me who called it a rule! Quite right, but I did use a ...

Re: Masters - Safety Vs Progress

Do you remember the thread about 1/3 or 2/3s rule for acceleration between hazards? I've only ever tried it for myself after reading about it on t'interweb. I don't like the way (from the way I read and [mis?]understood?) it seems to place emphasis on getting from 'Here >>>> there' which may remove...

Re: Masters - Safety Vs Progress

It's a series of runs with a mentor, but you knew that. (Unless he just went for test only option). I thought it was - but hadn't realised there was a 'test only' option. Well I could be wrong. There used to be a test only option but I can't see it specified now. It does read like he wasn't "o...

Re: Masters - Safety Vs Progress

Is Masters a 'single event', or a course (I thought the latter). If a course, then either he changed his driving for the test, or wasn't prepared for that examiner's expectations. It's a series of runs with a mentor, but you knew that. (Unless he just went for test only option). My question would b...

Re: Turn left?

... All that said, and as legal as it may be, if you can't complete the manoeuvre without having to wait for someone to "let you in" then it is very likely going to piss someone off and a police officer having a bad day may well pull you over and nick you for driving without due considera...

Re: Turn left?

Here's one to get your teeth into. We haven't had a driving/riding situation question for a while. Can I turn left here from the right hand lane without doing a 360 round the roundabout? Yes. Looks like the old layout was a nightmare. Letting a vehicle turn right from the left hand lane. On a DC. N...

Re: Second thoughts on offsiding

Some of your concerns are covered in this insightful and thought provoking topic (possibly): http://www.advanceddrivinghub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=710 To answer your comment - it's glaringly obvious that given the conditions you made up that offsiding is high risk. Same for overtaking. O...
